Disruptive Maintenance in London Facility – 31/05/2017 – Completed

We have received confirmation from our upstream network provider that they have implemented fixes in their network to improve routing performance during a failure. To verify that the network performs as expected, Sharedband will be performing disruptive maintenance on the morning of the 31st May. This maintenance will Sharedband to simulate the events that occurred on the 16th March and to verify that network convergence happens as designed.

Details of Work:

Date: 31st May 2017

Time: 02:00UTC

Duration: 4 hours

Details: The link between Sharedband and the Provider will be shut. BGP will timeout and engineers will examine routing tables to confirm that routing updates have propagated and traffic reroutes around the failed network link.

Impact: If traffic does not reroute in a timely manner around the failure, this maintenance will be disruptive and will impact all services hosted in London. While every attempt will be made to expedite the troubleshooting and resolve configurations, we expect the total downtime to last between 1 and 2 hours, with intermittent connectivity for the remainder of the maintenance window as configurations are verified.
